Why would a female with some version of a desk job, who hates bugs, getting dirty, can't see why anyone would choose to camp (when their home has electric, running water and no bugs), thinks handling bait and/or fish is "icky" pick to become more outdoorsy? Its healthier & more interesting than staying inside.
I have had more fun on the trip where we went fishing in Canada (by far!!!) than when we went to Cancun or the Florida Keys. I used to buy in to the idea that a vacation is a beach where you do nothing. Turns out the beach is beautiful, the ocean sounds great & after a few hours I am bored.
In Canada we got up early, had a hearty & yummy breakfast, packed our gear into the boat and had tons of fun catching our shore lunch! Whoever heard of catching one fish & having another, apparently very hungry fish try to eat your caught fish right off your hook??! Those of you who fish, knew about this & now I know the excitement of it too! Shore lunch - is anything better??? You are really hungry from being out on the water & fighting fish - and then you stop to eat the freshest fish you've ever had! Walleye & Northerns are sooo yummy!
I have other reasons too - I'll share them another day. In the meantime - if you find an opportunity to head to the beautiful north country and fish - go for it!
